Matcha is an elegant powdered tea made from the finest Japanese sencha, commonly used in the traditional Japanese tea ceremony. Matcha powder is normally whipped with a whisk into a frothy emerald green infusion, or it can be simply shaken up with some water in a water bottle and taken to go. Thick and concentrated, this esteemed green tea inspires focus and calm.
Our Matcha is Certified USDA Organic, is of an extremely high Ceremonial Grade, and is hand stone ground. This is an exceptional product and an exceptional value that we think cannot be matched.

Unlike most tea in which the tealeaf is steeped and removed before drinking the brew, Matcha drinkers consume ALL of the antioxidants rather than only those extracted from the tealeaf into the brew. Because of this, Matcha powdered green tea has well over 100 times more antioxidants than regularly brewed green tea. These antioxidants include the powerful EGCG, which prevents disease and detoxifies the body naturally. Matcha powder is packed with fiber, chlorophyll and vitamins, which lower cholesterol and blood sugar. Matcha powder also boosts metabolism and burns calories. Matcha contains highly concentrated green tea vitamins, minerals, chlorophyll and the unique L-theanine amino acids found almost exclusively in green tea.
Brewing Instructions for Matcha Powder:
Traditional method: With organic matcha powder, there are a many approaches to preparation. The most traditional method is to use a bowl and bamboo matcha whisk. Add one teaspoon of matcha powder to the bowl, then add a half cup of near boiling water (80 degrees celsius) into the bowl with the matcha powder. Whisk in a W motion for about 30 seconds to mix the powder thoroughly in with the water. The goal is to have bubbly matcha froth as the top layer of the matcha brew. Now try the mixture you made; if it’s to strong for your taste add a bit more water, if it’s too light add another scoop of matcha. The traditional tea preparation method described here is the Japanese tea ceremony and could be a cool way to prepare some tea for your friends if you have a tea party.
Contemporary method: For most occasions you'll be preparing the matcha for your own consumption and whisking the matcha will not be all that time effective. Luckily, matcha is also the fastest tea to prepare when you are in a hurry. All you need to do is mix the powder thoroughly with water of any temperature. You can use a spoon to stir it into a cup of hot water, or, what I often do is put some matcha powder into a water bottle, add some water and simply shake the bottle vigorously. Now you have a superfood energy boost to take with you on the go! The key thing to remember is that Matcha is much more potent than any other tea—in terms of vitamins, antioxidants, fiber, but also caffeine. So, start slow and learn how much matcha powder gives you the caffeine buzz you are looking for.

This is by far the best matcha powder I have ever tried, and I have tried quite a bit. The flavor is smooth without the bitterness of lower quality matcha. The fact that it's organic is a bonus! and the customer service is phenomenal

Great tea. My favorite Wu Mountain product. Dissolves easily, great taste, and lots of otherwise-left-out nutrients and fiber from the tea plant.
MATCHA TO THE RESCUE!

The matcha powder is hands down my favorite product by Wu Mountain Tea. Big scoop to get your morning going, little scoop for an afternoon treat. Either way, the cup is seemingly endless. I put a little less than a tablespoon of matcha in a normal-sized travel mug for work, and the cups just kept on coming! Great product, great service, great company. If you like green tea, you gotta try Wu Mountain's matcha.

No bitterness or unpleasant overtones whatever. This is the finest matcha that I have tried so far.
