Antioxidants have proven Anti-inflammatory properties, which help to reduce pain, swelling, acne, and muscle stiffness. Antioxidants have also been proven to lower the levels of bad cholesterol, such as LDL, and regulate those that are beneficial for our health. The antioxidants also strengthen the immune system and ward off cancer. A major contributor to the development of cancer and many terminal illnesses is excessive oxidative damage caused by free radicals. The high levels of polyphenols and catechins, the two most common antioxidants in white tea, help to reverse the damage caused by free radicals, protecting the cells and DNA, detoxifying the organs and getting rid of inflammation.
Additionally, Silver Needle white tea contains an amino acid called L-theanine, which is able to enhance our sense of calmness and stress-relief without nullifying any of the energizing benefits provided by the caffeine in White Tea. The L-theanine binds to caffeine and extends its period of absorption, which produces a relaxing concentration that is sustained throughout the day.
Our Silver Needle Tea is the highest quality, Premium loose leaf tea we carry. The flavor is delicately sweet even through long steeping times with boiling water. However, in order to maximize the subtle sweetness of this tea, use near boiling water (90+ Celsius) with 2-3 teaspoons of Silver Needles. You can use a teapot (use 5-6 teaspoons for large teapots), use a strainer/infuser with a mug, or just put the leaves directly into an empty mug and drink the tea with the leaves loose in the cup. As the tealeaves begin to release their favor they will naturally fall to the bottom of the cup, making this tea convenient to drink without a strainer. There is no need to remove the leaves from the water at any point. When you finish your first cup simply re-steep the tea by infusing the tea with more hot water. This tea can be re-steeped for 4+ flavorful cups.
