Delicate green tea from Fujian, China, Jasmine Pearls are made from the finest silver tips of tender young buds, gently steamed after plucking, and hand-rolled into elegant pearls. During jasmine season, freshly picked blossoms are blended with the green tea buds to produce an intoxicating aroma.
Our Jasmine Pearls tea is EU certified, and Premium quality.
Jasmine flowers are a supreme mood enhancer, as this aromatic flower promotes relaxation, tranquility, and reduces stress. Combining both the health benefits of green tea and jasmine flowers, Jasmine Pearls have been used by Chinese Imperial Families for hundreds of years to improve appetite, digestion, skin, and reduce anxiety.
Our Jasmine Pearls are premium green tea that has been scented with Jasmine flower. With green teas, the point of focus should be the water temperature. Green teas are the most delicate and thus require a lower water temperature than Black or Oolong teas. This temperature should be right around 80 Celsius. Getting the degrees exactly right is not a huge deal; just try not to use water at a roaring boil (100 Celsius). If the water is too hot the leaves will get scorched and the flavor will be off. So, after you boil the water, let it sit for a minute to let it cool off. While waiting for the water to cool, you can prepare 2 teaspoons of the Jasmine Pearls.
When the water has cooled off a bit you can use any number of methods to brew the tea. You can use a small strainer placed in the cup, or a teapot with a built-in strainer (use 3-4 teaspoons if it’s a large teapot). Personally, I just put the leaves into a cup and pour water directly over them and drink the tea with the leaves loose in the cup. This method is especially effective with premium green teas because you can actually chew and swallow high-grade green tea leaves after they've been steeped.
What is also convenient is that as premium tea leaves release their flavor, they fall to the bottom of the cup, which makes it easy to not use a strainer. However, for those who prefer using a strainer, Wu Mountain will be putting a number of tea straining tools up on the website under a new section called Teaware. Don’t forget; with tea of premium quality you can re-steep the same leaves 4+ times.
