For centuries in China, Oolong Ginseng has been seen as the number one beauty tea as the rich antioxidant content helps prevent heart disease, detoxifies the body, and improves the skin. With regular consumption, Oolong Ginseng helps decrease the body’s absorption of fats and carbohydrates, which aids in digestion and reduces excess body fat. At the same time, the nourishing ginseng extract stimulates the body, energizes the mind, and boosts the immune system.
Our Oolong Ginseng has a very powerful earthy taste that is released into the tea immediately after you infuse it with hot water. The main point of focus when steeping Oolong Ginseng is to control the powerful earthy Ginseng flavor. If steeped too long or with too hot of water, the ginseng flavor can be overwhelming. So, boil the water and let it cool down for at least 2 minutes (if you have a thermometer, the ideal temperature is 85 Celsius). Measure 1-1.5 teaspoons of tea (3 for large teapots) and infuse it with the hot water. You can use a tea strainer/infuser, a teapot, or directly put the leaves in an empty mug and pour the hot water over them. When you finish your first cup simply re-steep the tea by infusing the tea with more hot water. This tea can be re-steeped 4 times. The powerful ginseng flavor can be an acquired taste, so start small with just one teaspoon of leaves and go from there.
