Kombucha Tea is a centuries-old source of probiotics, prebiotics, antioxidants, and detoxifying nutrients. On one hand, many recent peer-reviewed research articles have reported significant beneficial effects of Kombucha Tea consumption on gut health and the gut microbiome, but on the other hand, research also shows that issues with ingredient selection, production, storage, and transport can (but not always) diminish Kombucha’s beneficial effects on health. Understanding where to be optimistic and where to be cautious is key to understanding Kombucha Tea’s complex effects on health.
